Location, Location, Location…and the Cabin is really great too!

We’ve enjoyed visiting this area for many years and love finding new places to see and experience. The Blowing Rock Cabin is our central hub, and the location between Blowing Rock and Boone, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway make it an ideal and convenient place to explore the high country.

If we’re looking to hike to waterfalls, go kayaking, zip lining, snow skiing/tubing, white water rafting, or climbing, they’re all just a short distance away.

When the activity level is more along the lines of shopping, and finding great restaurants, look no further than a 5-10 minute drive to either of the closest towns. You’ll also find arts and culture, museums, concerts and theatre all nearby. And it’s not hard to stumble upon a live music venue - concert centers, restaurants and parks are in plenty supply, as roots run deep in the area.

And for most people, just a simple drive along the parkway, whether it’s in prime foliage season or any other time of the year is a pleasant and relaxing way to spend the day.

Some of our most favorite things to do are the simplest ones - like taking a leisurely walk around Bass Lake in Blowing Rock, packing a picnic lunch to enjoy at Thunder Hill Overlook or grabbing a coffee and sitting in the rocking chairs at Moses Cone Manor. All close by, all spectacular!

Here’s hoping you find some new places you love exploring and visiting and we’re sure you’ll want to come back and do it again and again.
